Sound familiar? After a few summer break days of being the watering hole for the neighborhood, I remembered last summer my mom had set up a water station on the porch for all the house guests and it worked great. Then I remembered had picked up this old thermos jug at a thrift store. Score!!
So I set out to find it. Scrubbed it like it was full of nastiness even though it was relatively clean looking because sickness is no way to start summer break. Grabbed a little basket, loaded it with reusable cups in different colors, and filled the jug with ice and water.
Ta- da the door stayed shut for hours and I read my first summer book (The Supreme Macaroni Company) in peace white they kids got loads of fresh air and playtime, like kids should on summer break.
(Since then- The kids have taken on the task of filling it themselves. Sounds like another SCORE for me! And occasionally I will throw a few snacks in the basket in anticipation of “I’m hungry.”)
